Ask Your Agent About Market Trends

The Charleston Real Estate market currently is facing many of the same problems as across the country. Homes are staying on the market much longer and prices continue to fluctuate in this unstable housing market. For the Seller this means that they need an agent who can think outside the box to market their home, be able to identify the right buyer and use multiple marketing resources. The same old same old is no longer enough to get your home sold. What does this mean for you the home seller?
You need to ask more questions and get more information on just how an agent is going to sell your home. What kinds of questions should you ask?
Ask you potential agent where they plan on marketing your home?
What do they see as the current marketing trend in your neighborhood, in your area?
How long do they see your home on the market?
What do they think makes your home unique?
How may different formats are they going to market you home in? (i.e. print advertising local and regional-in some cases national, internet advertising, direct mail, internet mail t.v or local cable advertising)
Are they willing to put it in writing? Some real estate agents remind us of used car salesmen and they can say what they think that you want them to hear. As with any salesperson if they are willing to do it they should put it in writing.
Remember selling your home takes a commitment in this market and everything is negotiable.
